Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard believes that sooner rather than later he will be set competing with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world.
The 23-year-old is enjoying a coming-of-age season this year, having already scored nine goals and grabbing seven assists in just 22 Premier League games. He has already matched last year’s Premier League goal tally and been a pivotal player in Chelsea’s title push.
“Last season was very good but this season for me has been on a different level because I’ve been more consistent, I’ve played almost every game, almost every minute of every game, with the same intensity. I’ve created lots of chances and scored goals.” he told The Daily Star.
The 23-year-old added that he needs to score more goals if he wants to reach the same level as the La Liga superstars and then concluded by saying that he playse in a more creative role at Chelsea.
“If I want to reach the next level I have to score more, I know that, but I’ve taken pleasure on the pitch this season and I’m happy with the level I’ve reached, My role is always the same. When I get the ball I have to create something. It’s easier when you keep the ball and when you play against a team that defends a lot, especially at home. But it’s also difficult because you have to find space.” he continued.
Eden Hazard joined Chelsea in June 2012, after the London club paid Lille £32 million for his services.
